Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride
Cycle Queensland is a fully catered nine-day holiday on two wheels. The event is designed to let you have fun and enjoy your cycling. All your needs are taken care of by our team. Our tent city has first aid, mechanics, bike shops, masseurs, a general store, tourist information, licensed café, toilets and hot showers. We serve up three generous meals a day and even transport your luggage.
Each day you'll ride through wonderful countryside and cycle into a brand new town. All you have to do after a fun day on the bike is collect your bags and put up your tent. In the afternoons and evenings there is plenty to do and see: take a tour, party-on at the local inn or just chill out at the picturesque campsites.
Fun, Fitness and Friends.
Any moderately fit person can do Cycle Queensland. The event is about riding at your own pace, enjoying the ride, the company of others as well as the scenery and towns.
Full route support is provided each day including marshals, mechanics, food and water stops and first aid. You'll never be left behind on this ride; there is always someone to help you along. We strongly encourage every rider to finish each day on the bike, but if you just can't make it then we'll give you a lift in our sag wagon.
The daily average is around 75km. To make sure you have the most fun possible on your cycling holiday, we recommend you do some regular riding beforehand to get yourself ready for riding all day (and partying all night ... if you want to). When you enter you will receive the Handbook to Cycle Queensland that helps you prepare (download a pdf copy of the handbook if you what to know more before signing up). Go to Preparing for the ride for recommendations for an easy CQ fitness program.
We've had participants from 4 months to 84 years - anyone can do this ride.
Not sure if you can make it? Go to You Can Do It! for further details.

Million Star Accommodation

Cycle Queensland standard accommodation is Under the Stars. Each day you will pitch your tent in our friendly, centrally located campsite and sleep under the southern stars. (CQ Campsites are smoke free.)
Free camping will be available on the Friday before the ride or take advantage of one last night under a roof in one of the many accommodation options available in Bundaberg.
For those who want a little luxury along the way, we also offer the Easy Campese. At each campsite, you'll have a roomy tent put up for you and be supplied with a comfy sleeping mat. The Easy Campese option is extremely limited and this year will be allocated by ballot - see the info sheet for more details.
There is also a Rest Day accommodation service you can book on the entry form - have a little mid-week luxury!
Limited motel beds are available in most of the towns along the CQ08 route - refer to our Local Accommodation Options info sheet (100Kb PDF) for your options or phone the relevant tourist information centres. Any such arrangements are your own and the event organisers cannot assist further.
Can't make nine days?
If you are really sure that you can't make the whole ride or you can't get enough time off work - you don't have to miss out completely.
There are flexible options for riding any part of the event. It's easy to do the ride as four days up to Tin Can Bay or the four days from Tin Can Bay to the finish, with a charter bus organised to get you there or back. See the Options for Shorter Rides info sheet.
To keep Cycle Queensland to a friendly size, numbers may be limited, so don't delay!
