Since my involvement with BQ began, I've seen it grow from an organisation run by one person part-time into a highly professional organisation that now employs seven people full-time. I believe the strength of the organisation lies in its dedicated employees and team of volunteers and that the Committee must be supportive of both.

I've served on the BQ Committee for 9 years, including the role of Secretary for the past year. I'm a regular volunteer for BQ events and attend key meetings between BQ and government officials when possible and appropriate.

I am a Mining Engineer with 20 years experience, so I bring a practical perspective to the Committee. I also have a degree in Environmental Management which reflects my interest in finding solutions to the world's environmental problems (including bicycles of course).

I have been a regular commuting and recreational cyclist. Ten years ago I was a joint initiator of a Saturday morning ride in Brisbane which now gets an average of 30 cyclists. I now have a young baby and I am looking forward to getting back on my bike and to introducing him to the world of cycling.
