Bicycle Queensland Annual General Meeting: 2010

The Bicycle Queensland Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at 7pm on 24th March 2010 at Souths Leagues Club, Davies Park, Jane St, West End.

The AGM will address a number of agenda items, including receiving the Management Committee Report, Financial Statements and Auditors Report, appointing the auditor for the coming year. These matters require a vote and matters related to voting are outlined below.

Voting rights: Individual members have one (1) vote. Households have two (2) votes allocated to the first two eligible members listed in the Member Database (this is how they normally appear on correspondence to you). Members under the age of 18 as at the date of the AGM cannot vote.

How to Vote:

Come to the AGM and vote in person.

OR

Use the General Proxy Form

You can authorise another member who is attending the AGM to vote on your behalf. Fill out and sign the General Proxy Form and give it to your representative. This form applies for Items 3,4,5 & 7 of the Agenda. You may direct your proxy how to vote by ticking the appropriate box, or leave the voting decision to your proxy by not marking a box. Please note that no member, including the Chairperson of the meeting can exercise more than 5 votes as a proxy.

Completed General Proxy forms must be returned to BQ at least 24 hours prior to the AGM in order to be considered valid.

Election of Management Committee

Rule 36 states: The Management Committee shall consist of the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer (collectively termed "the office bearers") and up to four (4) Committee members, all of whom shall be members of the Association.

A call for nominations was placed in the January edition of Queensland Cyclist and on the BQ website with a closing date of 5pm 10th February 2010.

There was only one nomination received for each of the positions as follows:

Given there is only one candidate for each position and the nominations are valid, each nominee is automatically elected without any further step being required. The information supplied by the candidates with their nominations is listed in the Documents section below.
