Thousands of cyclists are expected to take up the challenge around Mt Coot-tha but thousands more will flood the streets of Brisbane on the traditional Great Brisbane Bike Ride.
This year the options are 45km or 30km rides, 12km Goldcross Cycles Family Fun Ride and the Taste of the Tunnel 15km.
The Great Brisbane Bike Ride (45km and 30km) go through the Clem7 tunnel. The 45km loop goes through the Clem7 tunnel, ICB and then links to the Brisbane River loop and back with a crossing at Indooroopilly including two rest stops along the way. The 30 “Morning Stretch” utilises the Eleanor Schonell Bridge to cross the river and includes one rest stop.
Riders receive a t-shirt at the finish.
The Goldcross Cycles Family Fun Ride (12km) is majority bikepaths around one of the city’s most scenic loops. Includes treats for the kids and giveaways for all. (please note this does not go through the Clem7 tunnel).
Taste of the Tunnel 15km. On this ride you will experience the Clem7 Tunnel and ICB which on a regular day cyclists are not allowed on. The ride will then continue through Roma Street parklands cross the river at Kulipa Bridge and return to South Bank.
Riders recieve a t-shirt at the finish.
It’s not a race, and there are no prizes for getting there first. We’ll have police, route marshals and mechanical support to help you along the way.
At the finish there’ll be food and coffee stalls and entertainment for the whole family.
Anyone can complete these rides. Try it - you’ll be surprised how easy cycling is.
Great Prizes up for grabs. Simply by entering the event you could win one of many cycling accessory prizes.
