Here is a taste of the roles we have available within the Wilson HTM Brisbane to the Gold Coast - 100km and Wilson HTM Logan to the Gold Coast - 60km Cycle Challenge team. Volunteer applications are now open. Read through the following role descriptions available. Register online through the link at the bottom of the page.
Cycling Services Team
- Route Marshal- keeps cyclists heading in the right direction. Warn cyclists of hazards. Hours varied between 5am and 2pm. Sun exposure very likely.
- Motorcycle Marshal - Hot Spot Trouble Shooters. Previous marshalling experience and own motorcycle essential. Hours 5am-1pm. Sun exposure likely.
Start Team - South Bank

Start Site Marshals – are based at South Bank and are responsible for providing directional assistance for the riders taking part in the ride.

Customer Service Registration – are based at South Bank and assist with the dispersal of rider kits.

General run arounds – are based at South Bank. They are part of a problem solving team to ensure the event runs smoothly. This role requires diverse duties and a hands on attitude.
Finish Team – Southport

Finish Site Marshals – are based at Southport and are responsible for providing directional assistance for the riders taking part in the ride.

Merchandise –are based at Southport and help distribute the event t-shirts and other merchandise to the riders, after they complete the ride.

Transport bookings – are based at Southport and distribute pre-booked transport tickets to cyclists and standby bookings from cyclists for transport options offered by Bicycle Queensland for themselves and their bikes.

Bike loaders – are based at Southport and load the riders’ bikes onto the shuttle trucks for transportation to Helensvale train station.

Shuttle truck drivers – are based at Southport and drive the shuttle trucks to and from Helensvale train station and assist in unloading of rider’s bikes at Helensvale train station.

Transport marshals – are based at Southport and assist the transport coordinator with directing cyclists to the relevant transport destinations and ensure cyclists place their bikes onto the correct trucks and then directing cyclists to then board the corresponding bus.

60km Start Team – Eagleby

General Duties - Placing & packing up of barriers, signs, water points, waste disposal etc. Rider marshalling and pedestrian control. Administering the cloakroom. Keeping the area tidy. Hours required 7.00am -9,00am
Rest Stop 1 – Logan

General Duties - Placing & packing up of barriers, signs, water points, waste disposal etc. Distribution of food. Rider marshalling and pedestrian control. Keeping the area tidy. Hours required 5.00am – 11.00am
Rest Stop 2 – Coomera
-
General Duties - Placing & packing up of barriers, signs, water points, waste disposal etc. Distribution of food. Rider marshalling and pedestrian control. Keeping the area tidy. Hours required 6.00am – 1.00pm
