5000 and still counting!

Posted at 12:51 pm on Saturday, September 29, 2007

More than 5000 riders have signed up to ride in the Wilson HTM Brisbane to the Gold Coast Cycle Challenge on Sunday 7 October, making it Queensland’s biggest bike ride ever.

If you haven’t entered yet, don’t delay as entries close on Monday 1 October (if the event isn’t over-subscribed in the meantime!)

Don’t forget there is also still time to raise money for one of our charity partners – the Heart Foundation or Diabetes Australia (Qld).

Rider kits will be mailed on Monday 1 October to all riders who entered the event up to Sunday 30 September.

For people who entered on Monday 1 October, your rider kit will be available for collection at the start site from 5 am for the 100km ride or 7.30am for the 60km ride.

The information sheet included in the mail out is also available online
(link below) along with an additional info sheet.

South Bank bus transport options have closed

Posted at 10:07 am on Thursday, September 27, 2007

With the number of riders on this year’s event rapidly approaching 5000, we have reached capacity on the bus service returning from the finish site to South Bank. This service returns both rider (in a bus) and bicycle (in an accompanying 8-tonne truck) from Southport to South Bank.

This option is no longer available for people registering from this point forward. BQ is sorry for any inconvenience.

Join us as a volunteer

Bicycle Queensland and our partners the Heart Foundation and Diabetes Australia (Qld) need your help to make this event the best one yet.

Even with assistance from the school communities at Eagleby State School and Coomera State School, we are still looking for people to volunteer on the event, especially as route marshals.

Download the volunteer application form, and send it back to BQ by fax, post or email.
