BUGs
A Bicycle User Group (BUG) is a community based group set up by cyclists who may or may not be BQ members. There are three main types:
- Local BUGs: These are usually defined by a geographical area e.g. council based
- Workplace BUGs: Are based in a workplace eg hospital, government department or business park.
- Campus BUGs: Can be based in a place of education eg University/TAFE College.
BUGs often arrange and participate in social rides.
They also provide a forum for cyclists to meet and discuss local bicycle issues and work with local government to improve cycling conditions. Because of their local knowledge, they can be effective in working with planners and decision makers on the kinds of issues covered on our Campaigns page.
Please email us if you know of any BUGs that are not listed here, or if you are thinking of starting a BUG yourself.
