What's your earliest cycling memory?

My brother and I just jumping on our bikes on the weekends and riding for hours - no mobile phones, no way of being contacted, just needing to be home before it was dark.

My first bike was...

Unfortunately not a BMX. I was an 11 year old getting my first bike and desperately wanted a BMX like my big brother. As I was a girl I wasn’t allowed a BMX and ended up with some dorky girly bike.

What do you do to relax?

I love sitting out on the back deck at home with a nice glass of wine and a good book. Otherwise, getting out and going for a run or ride.

What's most memorable sight you've seen from a bike?

Riding over Indooroopilly Bridge on a beautiful morning and looking out over the Brisbane River, the fantastic views as you ride Mt Nebo (this can also help take your mind off the pain!) or catching sight of hot air balloons. I feel we sometimes get caught up in just getting from point A to B and don’t take the time to appreciate the journey.

If you could give one piece of advice to a new rider, what would it be?

Make sure that you enjoy the experience. Riding should be fun.

Road bike, mountain bike or tourer?

A beautiful Bianchi Road bike.

What's the best thing about your job?

I enjoy working in an organisation that is encouraging people to become more active and which involves a personal interest of mine.

If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be?

That it would be impossible to intentionally cause harm (physical or mental) to anyone.
